As I woke up this morning and glanced out the window at the results of a blizzard blowing through the night before, there was a sense of silent splendor in stepping out and viewing the beautiful white winter wonderland of everything coated in snow. There’s a certain silence and quiet beauty in fresh, untouched snow. A friend on Facebook shared a Dennis the Menace Cartoon where Dennis is pointing to the sky saying, “If Heaven is that pretty on the bottom, think how it must look on top!” That got me to thinking about my poem, “I Want to Peek at Heaven.” I was inspired to write this poem when the sky looked exceptionally gorgeous one day, and I thought wouldn’t it be great if we could just peel back the sky and see Heaven…..
It’s always amazing when we see a rainbow in the sky. I was amazed this morning when I came across a photo that an airline pilot had taken while passing through a rainbow. How awesome to see it from the pilot’s perspective from the sky.
